For me, art is a balancing act: one that straddles the line between innovation and tradition, natural and handmade, and conscious and subconscious. From the process to the product, my artwork skirts the boundaries of the unexpected and creates pieces that are uniquely representative of myself. The balancing begins with the inspiration, one that is jointly shared between the natural and the manmade. The contrast between the manmade and the natural results in a process that is equally as traditional as it is innovative. While I work quite deliberately, consciously employing both these standard and non-standard practices, my subconscious is the undisputed project manager. These themes of contrasts, whether intentional or not, enable others to identify with my work, regardless of the medium.
